Friends of Vauxhall Park

An award winning park in Central London

About the Park

Vauxhall Park was opened on 7th July 1890

By

Albert The Prince of Wales

It is located in the London Borough of Lambeth on the South Lambeth Road (A203) at its junction with Fentiman Road (B301) and comprises about eight and a half acres of land.

The park should not to be confused with the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, which opened in 1661 and were mentioned by several early dramatists. The remains of the Pleasure Gardens (which closed in 1859) are now called Spring Gardens and are situated off Kennington Lane near Vauxhall Bridge.
