Volunteering in Vauxhall Park

We welcome Volunteers!

Whether you are an individual looking to get involved in our regular community gardening sessions or a corporate group who would like to spend some time helping to keep the park looking great, we’d love to hear from you!

If you would like to be added to our WhatsApp group, where we post upcoming gardening sessions (usually on a Saturday morning), please email us (friends@vauxhallpark.org.uk).  We generally work for a couple of hours and the jobs depend on the time of year but we always have a post gardening catch up at Parco Cafe afterwards.  No experience is necessary – we will show you what to do!

If you are a corporate group, we can tailor the work to your group.  For example at certain times of the year, the lavender field needs weeding and pruning, at other times the leaves are a constant, but very important task.  There is an excellent cafe in the park where you can start the day and have lunch and we can provide the tools that you may need.  If you would like, we can give your group a potted history of the park before you get to work so your group understands the space that they are working in and the importance of the park within Vauxhall.  You will be covered by our own insurance but we will need you to fill out a risk assessment form.  We do not, as some places do, ask for a fee but do ask that you consider giving a donation to the Friends of Vauxhall Park that we will use for maintaining and replacing the tools that you will be using.  As there is quite a bit of admin involved in having a group in the park, we do ask that you work for a minimum of two hours (but hope that you will want to stay longer).  Please email us to discuss your group’s visit to the park further.
